To be displayed in FL-15 District Washington D.C. Office

Washington, July 30, 2020

Washington, D.C. —
U.S. Representative Ross Spano (FL-15) met with Major Jonathan C. Taylor, from the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force on Capitol Hill. Major Taylor presented Spano with a U.S. Air Force Seal to be displayed in the office of Florida’s 15th Congressional District.

“The most important duty of the federal government is our national defense and ensuring our country is ready to face the challenges of the 21st century. I’ll continue to support the critical role MacDill Air Force Base, their personnel, and other military branches play in keeping our nation safe,” said Spano. “I proudly accept this seal on behalf of all of the residents and men and women in uniform who reside in Florida’s 15th Congressional District.”

Florida’s 15th district is home to thousands of active military service members and their families, and contains a large veteran population, both with close ties to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. MacDill AFB is home to the United States Central Command and the United States Special Operations Command.

Just last week, Rep. Spano voted ‘Yes’ on the National Defense Authorization Act which will ensure America has the best trained, best equipped and best led military in the world. This year’s NDAA also gives all service members a 3% pay raise and provides critical funding for veteran programs. The bill also allocates funding for confronting rising threats and rogue nations, like China. The final bill is still being negotiated with the Senate.
