Rep. Ross Spano Represents Florida’s 15th Congressional District

Lakeland, FL
Today, U.S. Representatives Ross Spano (R-FL) was recognized by the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), as a ‘Taxpayer Hero’, in recognition of his outstanding congressional voting record protecting taxpayers’ dollars. Spano’s lifetime rating awarded by this organization is 88%.

“When I went to Washington, I promised the residents of Florida’s 15th District that I would be a good steward of their trust and taxpayer dollars— and that’s exactly what I have done,” said Spano. “I am humbled by this recognition, and I will continue to work on behalf of our district for our conservative values”.

The Council’s distinguished recognition, which has been made public since 1989, is issued annually to Members of Congress based on their votes. CCAGW identifies which members of Congress have defended taxpayer interests and those that have backed away from their promises of fiscal responsibility. The congressional rating dives deep into every roll call vote having to do with important tax spending, transparency, and accountability measures affecting constituents.

“We applaud the Taxpayer Heroes for their votes to cut wasteful spending and defend the interests of taxpayers.  In this unprecedented time in American history, the actions of these members are an encouraging sign, and their constituents should congratulate them…” said CCAGW President Tom Schatz, adding, “…now more than ever the government should be spending the taxpayers’ money effectively and efficiently.”

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste is the government affairs arm of Citizens Against Government Waste, the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.
